Education
Miss Rausch,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you again for the fabulous opportunity you provided for our students (and my family). For all but 2 of the 30 students who attended last night, Carmen was their very first experience of opera. Indeed, for more than a few, it was their very first exposure to live theater of any sort.
The MetroPelican Opera program is a definite boon for our community-at-large and a tremendous blessing for our Cohen students. Many of the "arts doubters" among the student body are now starting to wonder what they missed out on last night after hearing the excited reports from the students who attended. I was particularly surprised and happy to hear the enthusiastic praise for Carmen that was shared by two members of the football team who signed up to attend mostly because of the extra credit points they could receive in French II, but were asking about when the next opera event would be during class this morning.
Thank you for what you do to make this program possible.
