Junior Committee

The mission of Junior Committee is to maintain and cultivate an interest in opera and opera education, and to promote ticket sales among the young people of New Orleans. We support the Opera Association through educational, fundraising, and goodwill programs.

Become a Member of the Junior Committee

The Junior Committee is comprised of "Active Juniors" who are women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s and "Associates" who are also active members of the Women’s Guild. Annual membership is $25 for Active Juniors and $15 for Associates.

• Three catered General Membership Meetings each year at no charge
• Opening Night Socials before each opera with complimentary wine for yourself and a guest
• Invitations to the many events hosted by the Junior Committee, including the popular Membership Luncheon at the Fairgrounds and the Children’s Party
• Discounted admission to the Summer Party, the Mardi Gras Fête, and all Opera Orientations
• Participation in our largest fundraiser for the Opera Association, the Wine Auction
• Volunteer opportunities to receive discounted or complimentary tickets to performances and dress rehearsals
• Performer appreciation activities with chances to meet the cast, chorus, and crew
• Contribute toward the continuation of opera and supporting the revitalization of New Orleans
• Socialize with people who share similar cultural and artistic interests

Support the Junior Committee

For those of you ineligible for membership, we invite you to make a donation to the Junior Committee. While not official members of the Junior Committee, those donating $25 or more will be invited to attend our Opening Night Socials where you will receive complimentary wine for yourselves and one guest. Supporters will also receive event announcements via e-mail and a formal invitation to the Wine Auction.
