Supernumeraries Needed for Turandot

NOOA is looking for Supernumeraries for Turandot and other performances for the 2011-2012 Season

What is a supernumerary you ask? A ‘super’ is a non-singing/non-speaking acting role in an opera. Supers can be anything from palace guards to ladies in waiting, to judges, executioners, you name it. You get the chance to work with world class opera singers and directors and experience Opera in a whole new way!

Super roles for Turandot:

• Strong, body builder type to be the Executioner
• 4 men, to be Guards/Executioner Assistants
• 2 women to be handmaidens for Turandot

The ability to move well and dance experience are helpful.

Rehearsals will be during the evenings on October 12-14th at the First Baptist Church on Canal Blvd. Performance is on Saturday the 15th. Techs and performances are at the Morial Convention Center.

There is a $50.00 honorarium for being a super.

Seeking men and women to be jugglers, acrobats

All rehearsals take place at the First Baptist Church on Canal Blvd. The techs and performances are at the Mahalia Jackson Theater.
