Support the Opera

New Orleans Opera proudly carries on a tradition that dates to the 18th Century, when New Orleans was the site of the first opera performance in North America.

Today’s opera company is the largest in the state and the only fully professional producer of opera in the city. Today, opera’s historic legacy in the region depends on your support. As with most opera companies, ticket revenues cover only one third of the costs of producing outstanding opera and award-winning educational programs.

There are many ways for individuals and businesses to contribute to the success of New Orleans Opera, and every contribution is vital. Your support not only keeps opera on stage in New Orleans, it also helps maintain the livelihood of the hundreds of local musicians, artists, and craftspeople who bring each performance to life.

New Orleans Opera Association is classified as a public charity and has 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law. All donors receive receipts for tax purposes and recognition in an Opera program book, unless you request to remain anonymous. Feel free to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
