Season Subscriptions

Season subscriptions offer many benefits including:

• The best seats at the best price.
• Flexible exchange policy - we are happy to exchange your tickets for the best remaining seats in your section for another day (subject to availability) should you be unable to attend a performance. Please note that you may only exchange your ticket BEFORE the performance has taken place.
• Priority seating guaranteed - your seat will become your seat and if you want to move, as a subscriber you have the first chance to change your seat.
• Replacement of lost tickets.

All Sales are final. Artists, repertoire and times are subject to change. Premium Seating is reserved for patrons that contribute $500.00 or more a year (per seat).

*Note: Performance-day tickets are available only through Ticketmaster online or at the Theater. Ticketmaster will begin co-selling tickets approximately one week prior to opening night and then exclusively from 5:00 PM on the Thursday prior to the first performance of a production through the final production. Student Discounts

With current student ID students receive 10% off the purchase price on tickets in any section and if seating is available there will be a 50% off rush 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance.

Group Discounts

Groups of 20 or more receive 20% off, groups of 30 will receive 30% off and 40 will receive 40% off. We also offer discounts to smaller groups, please contact the opera for more information.

Gift Certificates

Opera is the perfect gift! To give the gift of opera and support the arts in New Orleans you may purchase gift certificates year round by calling our box office at 504.529.3000 or 800.881.4459.

All sales are final and non-refundable. Artists, repertoire and performance dates/times are subject to change. The New Orleans Opera Association will maintain a Will-Call window and Customer Service Window at the Theater two hours prior to curtain to assist ticket holders who purchase tickets through the Association.

Performance Times and Location

Friday performances began promptly at 8:00 PM and Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 PM. All performances are on The Plácido Domingo Stage in The Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - 801 N. Rampart Street (map). The entrance is on Basin Street. Plan to arrive an hour early and enjoy the "Nuts and Bolts" lecture on the 2nd floor mezzanine or take a stroll through beautiful Armstrong Park.

Don't Be Late!

Patrons are urged to arrive early - there is absolutely no late seating. Patrons arriving after the start of the performance will be asked to view as much as the first act via video monitors in the lobby.

Parking Information

Don't wait in line! You can include a pre-paid parking pass on your season subscription for just $40. With this pass you are entitled to enter the parking lot through a pre-paid gate at the far end of the parking lot. Or, on the night of the even, you can pay the parking attendant $10 at the gate. Be sure to have exact change. Accessible parking for persons with disabilities is available at the house right entrance. Find important parking information and a map here.

What To Wear

In modern day New Orleans, you'll see opera-goers wearing everything from ball gowns to Birkenstocks. Feel free to dress up for a special night out, dress down for comfort, or find your own happy medium.

Lost Tickets

This is a subscriber benefit. If your tickets have been misplaced for any reason call the New Orleans Opera Box Office and your replacement tickets will be printed immediately! If you notice they are missing after hours on performance day, come to Customer Service at the Auditorium and we will make sure your seat is secure.

Unable to attend?

Consider donating your tickets! - If for any reason you are unable to attend the opera, please donate your tickets back to us. Another patron will be grateful and you will receive a tax letter for your contribution. You may donate the tickets back by calling our box office at 504.529.3000. You may also donate your tickets back to the opera in person at the box office on the evening of the performance. We are not able to accept ticket donations once the performance has begun.

Ticket Upgrades

You may upgrade you ticket anytime by calling 504.529.3000. Once at the hall, simply visit the customer service window at the box office. The cost is the difference in face value of your ticket and the cost of the upgrade ticket.

Ticket Exchanges

This is a subscriber benefit. Any subscriber is welcome to exchange tickets for another performance of the same opera until 5:00 PM of the Thursday preceding any performance. Exchanges may be made in person or by phone at 504.529.3000. Exchanged tickets will be held at the theater at the Will Call window on the evening of the performance. Every attempt will be made to give you seating similar to your subscription seats, however, be advised that many of the sections sell out well in advance of the performance and we cannot guarantee that this will be possible.
