Amanda Majeski

Terence Blanchard, a six-time Grammy-winning trumpeter and composer, premiered Fire Shut Up in My Bones at the Metropolitan Opera in 2021. Known for his prolific work scoring Spike Lee films and powerful recordings like A Tale of God’s Will (A Requiem for Katrina), Blanchard remains a vital creative force deeply connected to jazz and the New Orleans musical tradition.

Ms. Majeski joins the New Orleans Opera as the leading lady of Der Rosenkavalier: the Marschallin.

Meredith Wohlgemuth

A winner of the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and graduate of the Juilliard School, soprano Meredith Wohlgemuth has built a reputation on US soil and abroad for her “pure sound that spreads through the hall like water in a river”. As a studio member of Staatsoper Hannover, she has made recent role debuts as Giulietta in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, and Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel.

Ms. Wohlgemuth joins NOOA as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier.
